ABS Pressure Pipe Systems

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a homogenous material with good chemical resistance and high impact strength. Other advantageous features are its suitability for use at low temperatures (-40C) and it's ease of jointing.

Standards - Individual products are in accordance with the appropriate British Standards.

  • Fittings (inch)          BS 5391 Part 1
  • Fittings (metric)       DIN 8063, Kiwa 549, ISO 727
  • Threaded Fittings   BS21, DIN 2999, ISO 07
  • Solvent Cement      BS 4346 Part 3

WRAS Approval - The material meets the requirements of the requirements of the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme for potable water.

Temperature - ABS is suitable for use over a wide temperature range from -40C to 70C.

PVC-U Pressure Pipe Systems

PVC-U is one of the most widely used materials for pipe installations. It is highly suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Due to a smooth bore it has both good flow characteristics and good resistance to abrasion. PVC-U is light to handle and can be easily jointed.

Standards - Individual products are in accordance with the appropriate British Standards.

  • Fittings (inch)          BS 4346 Part 1
  • Fittings (metric)       DIN 8063, Kiwa 54, UNI 7442/75
  • Threaded Fittings   BS21, DIN 2999, ISO 07
  • Solvent Cement      BS 4346 Part 3

WRAS Approval - The material meets the requirements of the requirements of the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme for potable water.

Chemical Resistance - The chemical resistance properties of PVC-U are excellent. It is resistant to most solutions of acids, alkalies and salts and to solvents that can be mixed with water.

Polypropylene Pressure Pipe Systems

Polypropylene has excellent resistance to most chemicals and is most suited for use in the Pharmaceutical,  Electronics and Chemical industries.

Polypropylene is joined by socket fusion or butt fusion methods, electrofusion couplers are also available for joining spigot ended fittings.

Temperature - Polypropylene is suitable for use over a wide temperature range from -10C to 100C.

PVDF Pressure Pipe Systems

PVDF has excellent physical, chemical and thermal properties and as such, is suitable for use in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Food, Nuclear, Paper and Pulp and Hydrometallurgical industries.

PVDF is also used in the Microchip and Integrated Circuit manufacturing industries, particularly for handling Ultra   Pure De-ionised water and chemicals such as acids, chlorofluorinated  solvents and hydrogen peroxide.

PVDF is joined by socket fusion or butt fusion methods similar to Polypropylene and cannot be jointed using adhesives or solvents.

Temperature - PVDF is suitable for use over a wide temperature range from -40C to 140C.
